As the Communications and Social Media Manager for the iconic New York City culinary school, Angela is responsible for conceptualizing, managing and analyzing all digital + social media campaigns to effectively increase the overall audience and drive program enrollments. She is the direct supervisor to marketing interns and provides ongoing creative direction on photography and video shoots to support the overall marketing strategy.
Angela began her digital strategist position at the New York City office of Red Light Management in October 2014, working exclusively under the Tiësto team. For two years, she oversaw all social media strategy and implemented tactics on multiple platforms for electronic music artists including Tiësto, Seven Lions, Dzeko & Torres, MOTi, ZAXX as well as Musical Freedom and AFTR: HRS record labels. Aside from establishing artist bios and press releases, she conceived, implemented and analyzed various social strategies across a multi-platform landscape [including Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud, Twitter, and Vine]. Angela worked closely with the artists’ record labels on marketing timelines for single and album releases, major brand partnerships, and on-site activations.
Angela launched the electronic dance music blog EDM Insider in July 2011. Content included video and written interviews with top-tier artists, event and album reviews, photo galleries and more. Throughout the 5-year lifeline of the online publication, Angela managed over 20 contributors where she strategized brand development and curated and edited all editorial content. In addition, she liaised with artist and venue management, publicists and brands for cross-promotional initiatives. Twitter was the most influential social tool for EDM Insider, with a following of over 40,000.
Operating under the founder of the company, Angela produced diverse press releases, Wikipedia pages, artist biographies and social media consultation for music producer clients. She pitched new content from artists to assorted online publications and liaised with publicists to ensure client satisfaction. Research and sponsorship deck construction were also essential, working to acquire brand partners for 2000+ capacity live music events. Within this position, Angela traveled nationally to serve as a production assistant on private press events, artist touring, meet and greets, etc.
As the public relations director and content curator for NYC startup, Set List Agency, Angela's responsibilities included connecting artists on the client roster with new opportunities to grow their brands. Additionally, lead generation within the nightlife industry; researching and creating databases of contacts was also within her scope of tasks. Angela would scout new artists to join the Set List Agency team and aid on artist bookings across North America.
Editor in Chief for M80 Marketing/BlueLink Marketing owned property, HauteTalk.com —now know as HauteSpotter.com. Position duties consisted of organization and creation of content, augmentation of the monthly editorial calendar and marketing strategies to drive traffic to the website. Overseeing all social channels and enforcing monthly audience goals. Angela also served as a brand representative at various blogging and marketing conferences including BlogWorld, SES Conference & Expo, and more.
